Rearview Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 27, 2026

Rearview is a browser extension that shows the archived public post and comment history of a Reddit account. This policy explains what data the extension handles. In short: Rearview does not collect, store, sell, or share personal data. It has no server of its own, no analytics, and no tracking.

Data stored on your device

This data never leaves your browser except through your browser's own sync, and it is never sent to the developer.

Data sent when you run a lookup

Only when you start a lookup, the Reddit username you looked up is sent to:

These services have their own privacy policies. Rearview makes no other network requests.

Reddit pages

On reddit.com, Rearview adds history buttons next to usernames and on profile pages. It reads usernames from the page only to place these buttons. It does not record your browsing, read your messages, or collect your Reddit account information.
